For the feature article I chose to write and editorial about one of most dear to me landscaping projects I worked for.
There should be 1 page of written article where I describe step by step how to remodel your garden, while the 2nd page should be filled with example images before & after.
In terms of format to be used, I will start with a visible headline, probably looking as a header. There should follow the main image with a panorama view of the landscaping project I am referring to in the below article. No need for a byline crediting the photograph, as it will be a photo of my own. Being a panorama, the image should have the same width as the 1st page. I am not yet comfortable enough to have a picture spread over 2 pages. Maybe next year project I would consider it.
I will have a very short introductory paragraph introducing the ideas from the article. I would have it written in a single column as large as the main image, and I would either use larger fonts than those from the article or, most probably, I will use the same size, but bold and italic style for better visibility.
The body text will be a 3 column format, with small sections with subheads.
I will use the same color palette for the whole magazine, i.e, black fonts for body text and red fonts for subheads.
In the end, I’ll make sure to include all other necessary conventions: page numbers, the category the article is part of, as well as a reminder about the edition ID.
